Roomservice by CORT prepares for further growth in 2012

Roomservice by CORT, the UK’s leading furniture solutions provider owned by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, is preparing for expansion in 2012 with a series of key appointments and promotions.
We are pleased to announce that Graham Smith, the company’s Finance & Operations director, will become the new Managing Director. Graham has worked for the company for 26 years and was a founding partner of the original Roomservice business which was acquired by CORT in January 2008. His original business partner and Roomservice by CORT’s current Managing Director, Roger Hollis, will be retiring from the UK business at the end of 2011, but will be acting as a consultant for CORT’s US relocation business.
Karen Counterman, who joined the company from Clearview Relocation in 2010 as Business Development Manager, has been promoted to Sales Director and will focus on growing the company’s furniture rental revenues. This added to the recent appointment of Iain Crichton as Business Development Consultant, helps to strengthen and expand the relocation team with extensive experience and expertise in both the International Relocation industry and the Furniture Rental business.
Roger Hollis, retiring Managing Director of Roomservice by CORT comments: “I have spent a significant proportion of my working life building Roomservice by CORT into a successful and dynamic business. I am very sad to say goodbye to the industry and all the people I have enjoyed working with over the years. However, I am leaving the business in the capable hands of an enthusiastic and experienced management team, who will maintain the high standards of product and customer service on which we have built the business.”
